Apparently, people who bring up Socialist Security, and how it is going broke, are creating a “Controversy”. Sen. McAmnesty the other day said something to the effect that the payment system of “pay as you go” was a disgrace. God forbid we even bring it up. Right Washington Com-Post?
If that payment system is a disgrace, it has been one since Social Security was created during the Great Depression. For as long as the popular program has existed, today’s workers have paid the benefits of today’s retirees. Future problems are projected as Baby Boomers retire and the ratio of workers to retirees begins to shrink to levels that may not be able to support the benefits now promised. But the system has not changed since Franklin Delano Roosevelt created it.
So what do you say we do Mr. Weisman and Mr. Shear? Since you two think this is a “controversy”. I want to hear your plans, on how to “fix” Socialist Security. No where in your little post, does it say, hey here’s a solution to the evil known as Socialist Security. (I know, just doing your jobs, right?)
Here’s something for you two bozo’s to munch on. A lot of us “younger folks” have already gone and ensured our own retirement. A good portion of us will be retired way before the Almighty Government tells us when we can be. And that right there, doesn’t make you worshippers of Government happy. So the only thing I see, that will make Socialist Security “work” is to raise taxes on my 401k, investments, and such. Tell me if I’m wrong here. All in the name of “for the good of the nation”.
Now for my little view on Socialist Security. Get rid of it, and replace it with Nothing. Then, the money the Government has extorted from me, will be meant for me to save for my retirement. What a concept!! Me? Being allowed to make a “choice” (there’s that word choice you leftists) on how I choose to save my money? Holy Mary Mother of God!!! I love that idea.
Just another pipe dream. When we have people like you two, AARP, and the One Party System we live in, Not wanting to give up money, it will never be “fixed”.
As Ronald Reagan said; “A government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this Earth.”
