I remember back in 1994, when Pink Floyd did a reunion tour (minus Roger Waters), Myself and a few friends waiting in line for 9 hours to get tickets to see them at RFK. What an experience it was to see them.Something to behold, to be honest. The light show, the props (Pigs), and of course the 50,000 strong singing along to every word. I can remember like it was yesterday. In fact, I’m getting goose bumps as I write this.
That time in my life was not a good one, but for some reason Pink Floyd’s music helped me get through that terrible time. The song Comfortably Numb had become a sort of “theme song” to me. And to this day, it is still my favorite. Of all the songs of theirs, “Fearless”, “Echoes”, “Atom Heart Mother”, to name a few, Comfortable Numb still stands out.
So here’s to you, Richard Wright. I hope Saint Peter has welcomed you into God’s Great Gig in the Sky.
