Über Government lover Tony Blankley apparently has a new book coming out that is going to, maybe scare some Leftists, and make most Red State Chest Beaters cheer. But one things for sure, if you believe Loving your Government is the same as Loving your Country, then Mr. Blankley has the manifesto for you. (Psst. don’t tell him but there is another book that’s been available for a few decades on this very subject)
* How Obama’s plan for national service is a weak substitute for what America really needs–a full-on military draft
* Why we need stricter laws to prevent the media from compromising our national security
* Why the office of the presidency, contrary to popular belief, has not gained enough power since the September 11 attacks
*Why education reform under President Obama will fail to address one of the biggest problems in our education system: the failure to teach patriotism
A full on Military Draft? The President becoming more powerful? Stricter laws for that “Evil Liberal MSM”? And wanting Government Teachers, to teach our children How to love their Government Country? Oh Boy!! I can’t wait for Dictator President Obama to make these Glory’s of Government come true.
That’s not the best part boys and girls. Ed Morrissey has some excerpts up that will make all my Red State Chest Beaters want to start goose stepping right away. Here’s a line for the worshipers…
A nationalist recognizes that each citizen owes the country something….A nationalist program, such as I propose, seeks to restore America’s prosperity, military strength, and sense of patriotism. Above all else, it places the interests of the country first….(6)
Alright. My sarcasm is turned off now. The line above demonstrates what is so wrong with the Conservative Movement, and it’s Established mouth-pieces. Nationalism? Owes the country something? Mr. Blankley with all due respect sir, I don’t owe the Government a damn thing. To suggest I do, makes you nothing more than a Socialist in my eyes.
