So all the rhetoric about getting the government out of our lives, freedom and liberty, was nonsense  right?

Redding woman’s Christmas carol initiative picks up allies

Merry Hyatt has found allies in her quest to put an initiative on the ballot next year requiring public schools to play Christmas carols.

The initiative would require schools to provide children the opportunity to listen to or perform Christmas carols, and would subject the schools to litigation if the rule isn’t followed.

Here we go again with the whole Non-Existent War on Christmas.  And what do the good folks from the Redding, CA Tea Party Patriots have to say about this Un-Constitional, and blatant use of Government initiative?

“Bottom line is Christmas is about Christmas,” said Erin Ryan, president of the Redding Tea Party Patriots. “That’s why we have it. It’s not about winter solstice or Kwanzaa. It’s like, ‘wow you guys, it’s called Christmas for a reason.’ ” Ryan said Hyatt’s initiative falls under the umbrella of causes the group supports, which concern limited government, following the constitution and fiscal responsibility.

Wow. I’m speechless to be honest. I don’t even know where to start on that. Theres the whole thing about forcing “non-Christian” children singing songs about a Messiah they don’t believe in. (Liberty) And of course a school being subjected to Litigation if they fail to comply with the Law. (Limited Government)  Then theres that whole “1st Amendment” thing stating something to the effect that the Government is prohibited in establishing a Religion. Just saying.

I also see this Ms. Ryan has no understanding how the celebration of Christmas came to be. Ma’am? It is in fact the “Winter Solstice”. And the reason why we celebrate the birth of the Christ during this time, was so that Holy Mother Church could convert the Pagans. So the Church took over their celebration and we made it our own. Most historians put the Christ’s birth in the spring.

Congratulations, you are now stupid in two subjects,  The Constitution and Christianity.

Yeah, I think it’s time for you folks to turn in your “Conservative” cards.

It’s that time of the year again. Yes my friends, its time for the annual “War on Christmas“.  And what better way to rile up the base (that’s you, you wild and crazy Tea Partier’s) then to introduce a Meaningless House Resolution in support of the Federal Sanctioned Day Off.

The resolution states:  That the House of Representatives–

(1) recognizes the importance of the symbols and traditions of Christmas

(2) strongly disapproves of attempts to ban references to Christmas; and

(3) expresses support for the use of these symbols and traditions by those who celebrate Christmas.

Now, I got news for the people. There is NO ONE trying to take away your right in celebrating the birth of the Christ. No one. No one is telling me I can’t say Merry Christmas. No one is telling me I have to celebrate the “Winter Season”. Unlike my Protestant friends (who seem to be screaming the loudest about this) , As a Roman Catholic, I do not need the Government to tell me when it’s Christmas. The Holy Father does that.

While we are at it, why is it that the biggest cheerleaders for “Free Market Capitalism” in the Tea Party movement, are the ones trying to force Free Market Company’s to say what they want them to say. This is in fact, anti-free market.  A company that says “Happy Holidays” is not doing the “politically correct” thing, it’s adopting to current trends. By the way, aren’t you the same cheerleaders that are screaming the loudest about the “commercialization” of Christmas? Please make up your fragile little minds.

In short, there is No War on Christmas. If you need the Government to reinforce your beliefs and what days you need to observe your faith, than you really need to re-think the whole religion thing.

Sen.Diane Feinstein (D-CA) is one of the the most Anti-Freedom senators in the United States today. Her, Sen Boxer (D-CA) Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and ex-Sen. Rick Santorum  (R-PA) all come to mind when I want to list the most disgusting people of the US senate of the past 10-15 years. I’d list Teddy K, but that would be to easy.

So, it’s no surprise to see that Sen.Feinstein makes a morally disgusting, and Anti-Freedom statement like this doozie.

CNSNews.com asked Feinstein: “Is it morally right to use tax dollars from pro-life Americans to cover insurance plans that cover abortion?”  Feinstein said: “Is it morally correct? Yes, I believe it is.  Abortion is legal, and there (are) certain very tragic circumstances that a woman finds herself in. Married, with an unborn baby that’s unable to survive outside of the womb, her doctor tells her it’s a threat to her health.  I think she ought to have a policy available to her.”

CNSNews.com asked: “So it’s morally right for pro-life taxpayers to have to help pay for plans that cover abortion?” Feinstein responded: “Please. We pay for a lot of things that we may or may not agree with, and taxpayers pay for it, for those things, as well.

First off, the words “Morally Correct” and “Abortion” really shouldn’t be used in the same sentence. In fact, they shouldn’t be even near each other. It is never “Morally Correct” to end an Innocent Individuals life. The Science is Settled on that one.

Secondly, the Sen. actually speaks a bit of truth in her last comment. We all pay for things we don’t want to be paying for. As for myself, I don’t like paying for Medicare, Socialists Security, our Empire and Wars around the world, Public Schools, and a whole host of Government programs. But I am forced to by the barrel of the Almighty (Praise be to it) Government.

So Sen.Feinstein, please, respectfully shut up.

You got to hand it to the chief propagandist for the Dictator. The guy has to deal with a bunch of whiners day in and day out called the Washington Press Corp. And on top of that, hes got to stay on message. It’s a tough job to stand there an lie and for the Press Corp to believe it. Which isn’t to hard if you think about it.

So when the Press started whining about the Dictator’s daily tracking numbers dipping below 50% , Gibbs did what he does best, told the whiny press corp. what he thought.

Gibbs: Poll like a 6-year-old

“I tell you, if I was a heart patient and Gallup was my EKG, I’d visit my doctor,” Gibbs said. “If you look back, I think five days ago, there was an 11-point spread, now there’s a 1-point spread. I mean, I’m sure a 6-year-old with a crayon could do something not unlike that. I don’t put a lot of stake in, never have, in the EKG that is the daily Gallup trend.”

Now that is classic! And true. If you were to follow any of the Gallup polling, you’d think America was living in the End Times. Its a joke to follow that stuff. I seem to remember the previous Regime’s mouth pieces saying the same thing at times.

But don’t tell these folks. Because if I have learned anything from the “Conservative Media” for the past 8 years, it was always “Polls Don’t Matter”.

I’m not a huge believer in polls. Polls are mainly taken at the heat of a political issue and most people aren’t thinking to clearly, if at all. Its like when a reporter talks to an athlete after a game they just lost and they say something “out of line” on national TV.  It’s in the heat of the moment, when they aren’t thinking clearly.

So when I saw this new poll out : “Tea Party Tops GOP on Three-Way Generic Ballot“, I thought these people are really not thinking clearly at all.

I’ve been to a few of these “Tea Parties”. In fact, I was at the first one in DC back in February. I hate to tell the true believers in this “movement” but its a Republican/Conservative movement. Thats it. Its not this great grand coalition of Republicans/Democrats/Independents. Sure you’ve got some Libertarian folks there. I being for one, but its mainly people who don’t like President Obama and the Democrats.  And when they say they want there country back, they only mean George Bush’s country.

As much as I do respect Eric Odom, I’ve got to disagree with him on this. It’s not some sort of “Liberty Movement”. I wish it was. But I’m sorry to say its not.

For the next poll, I bet this got some Statist/Establishment types a bit rilled up:  “Isolationism among Americans is at its highest level in 40 years”.

Again, I don’t think people want “Isolationism” as this poll claims. I believe they want a more Non-Interventionist foreign policy. Meaning that we stay out of the worlds flare up’s and stop being the World’s Policemen. That’s not Isolationism, that’s being the country our Founding Fathers wanted us to be.

But the Globalists, NeoCons, and our Almighty (Praise be to it) Government have for 70 years demonized people who believe this way. When a poll like this comes out you always have some moron screaming “It’s the 1930’s America” again. People who scream that, have no concept of history.

I’m one of you

I’ve tried to give the former Governor of Alaska the benefit of the doubt. I’ve even written favorably about her at times. But this is total nonsense and why this lady is a complete train wreck.

If this is someone who the Tea Party folks want representing them, then I don’t want anything to do with you. Just like I don’t want  anything to do with the 9/11 truthers who support Dr.Paul. At least Dr.Paul doesn’t entertain notions that the Government was behind 9/11.

Framing it as some sort of revenge at the “Trig is not her child” kooks doesn’t make it right either. I have to say this whole “Sarah Palin is a Victim” crap just turns me off, more and more.

I’m with the lovely Ms. Larisa…I demand an investigation into the existence of Leprechauns!

Now that you have finally come out and said how you really feel about aspects of the “Right“, I wish some of the people you pointed your finger to would do the same.

These past 8 years, the definition of “Conservatism” got real, real muddied. And you Charles, Pamela Geller, Robert SpencerThe Jawa Report  and a host of you people became “voices of the Right”. Why? Because  they cheered for War. Oh, and for some reason people started thinking they had some sort of Masters Degree  in Islam because they read a few passages from the Koran. That’s all. And with that, the belief was that War and your hatred for Islam, meant you were a Conservative.  When in fact, there’s nothing Conservative about War. ( I think Islam is a very dangerous religion, just for the record)

What amuses me about the whole “coming out” post is, he really only rips into three people who are the Real Right. Pat Buchanan, Lew Rockwell and Stacy McCain. The rest are a smörgåsbord of tyrants, control freaks, and “Johnny Come Lately’s” to the Conservative Movement.  No wonder people have such a screwed up belief on what it means to be a Conservative. (Thank you George W. Bush)

So, Bravo to you Charles on “coming out”. Now I just wish some of the others would “come out” with ya.

Update: Rick Moran brings up a few good points in his post. And I do find myself in agreement with what hes saying. Especially about the “anti-intellectual” belief that does plague most of the Manufactured Right.  This notion that the elected representatives need to talk like “Joe-Six pack”  and not like someone who graduated from High School needs to stop.

But Rick goes off the rails , when he goes into agreement with Charles on the whole “Anti-Government” lunacy.

This anarcho-conservatism, where some kind of 19th century government is envisioned as the optimal solution to our problems, is a throwback to pre-Buckley days. It is unthinking, illogical, and oblivious to how the world has changed since the heyday of Robert Taft. Ultimately, it is a fearful kind of conservatism that can’t recognize or deal with change and seeks the safety of an idealized past.

Two things here: I don’t think the Manufactured Right wants some sort of “anarcho-conservatism”. That’s nonsense. Most of these people want George W. Bush’s Government back. Not some form of Constitutional Limited Government like they claim.

And I wonder how many people even know who Sen.Robert “Mr.Republican” Taft is today? I can almost guarantee that if you brought up Sen.Taft’s beliefs (I happen to agree with a lot of his stances) most Red Staters would think he was some anti-American liberal.

I have to say, this whole “Conservative Crack Up” is really interesting to watch.
