In the midst of Sister Sarah of the Order of the Immaculate Secular Heart of American Interest “I told you so’s” (and of course she knew, Randy Scheunemann was her and McCain’s foreign policy adviser during the 2008 campaign), the Daily Mail came out with this story.
Revealed: The forgotten treaty which could drag the US and UK into WAR with Russia if Putin’s troops intervene in Ukraine
Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma – the then-rulers of the USA, UK, Russia and Ukraine – agreed to the The Budapest Memorandum as part of the denuclearization of former Soviet republics after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Technically it means that if Russia has invaded Ukraine then it would be difficult for the US and Britain to avoid going to war.
A treaty to protect a country most in the USA couldn’t find on a map. Call me shocked.
In response Mr Brenton said in a BBC radio interview: ‘If indeed this is a Russian invasion of Crimea and if we do conclude the [Budapest] Memorandum is legally binding then it’s very difficult to avoid the conclusion that we’re going to go to war with Russia’.
I guess my question is, after a decade of military adventures in the Mid-East and a US public weary of more military action, are they ready to send there sons and daughters into a region that would no doubt plunge the West into another destructive and needless War? Are they ready to protect another countries borders, all the while the borders of North America are wide open to every criminal Third Worlder? Are we going to do this, where even inside that country, most want to be with their Russian brethren? How stupid are Americans? Is a move to Canada looking like a better idea every day?
Our blood comes from the same Father Lands and Mother Soils of Europe. These are our people! I know, day dreaming about that Utopian European Imperium.
We’ve seen what a”Treaty” has done in the past with all but the destruction of Western Civilization.
Cough-WW1-WW2- cough. Were they a warning on what not to do, or will they be shoved aside to get that War with Russia, so many in the US have been wanting since October of 1962?
Hail Mary, Pray for Us.
Good podcast over at Radix Journal on the actual background on what’s going on over there and a more in depth discussion than the normal “Either Or” nonsense, is here.

That the Fox is guarding the henhouse, right Big Ben?
Goldman role in Greek crisis probed
The US central bank is looking into Goldman Sachs’s role in arranging contentious derivatives trades for Greece, which helped the country to massage its public finances, Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, revealed on Thursday
“We are looking into a number of questions relating to Goldman Sachs and other companies and their derivatives arrangements with Greece,” Mr Bernanke said, apparently referring to Greek currency transactions structured by Goldman.
In other words Big Ben, nothing is going to come of Goldman Sachs’s role in helping Greece become a Third World Country. Just like nothing is going to come of their role in the Bank Bailout. We know why this is, because you, the Federal Reserve, and it’s buddies on Capital Hill don’t want the public to know that the disgusting bankers have been ripping the American people off for more years than some of them can count.
Same old, Same old, in the banksters paradise.

Sec. of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff (dual citizen) wants a Nation Fingerprint Registry , and hardly anyone in the blogosphere says a word. But now that Sen. Obama has his name as a co-sponsor on a housing bill, that is calling for one, and it’s a bad thing now?
Sens. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) authored a bill (with 11 co-sponsors, including Sen. Barack Obama) that was incorporated into a housing bill passed by the Senate Banking Committee 19-2 before the Memorial Day recess — a bill that creates a national fingerprint registry.
According to a Martinez press release, the language merely “create[s] national licensing and oversight standards for residential mortgage originators.”
So the Heritage Foundation, that proclaims it is all about “Reagan Conservatism” (with the help of the worse moron of them all, Sean Hannity), talks about Limited Government (but supports the warfare/welfare state) are now going after Sen. Obama for supporting something that El Presidente Bush supports? I am in LaLa Land folks.
Maybe this all has to do with this little news item from Croatia. (That’s a country for you public school kids)
EU, U.S., Told to Agree Joint Data Privacy Rules
The EU and the United States should agree a binding deal on data privacy to boost their cooperation in fighting crime and terrorism, senior officials said ahead of a transatlantic summit next week.
The panel of senior European Union and U.S. officials, set up more than a year ago after European lawmakers and rights groups said data sharing deals lacked proper privacy protection, identified a first set of broad common principles.
To quote from the movie the Matrix, when Neo and Trinity are getting ready to go into battle in the grand finale of the film, Tank asks ” So what do you need? Besides a miracle.”
Neo’s reply: Guns. Lots of guns .
That about says it all right there.
