In the midst of Sister Sarah of the Order of the Immaculate Secular Heart of American Interest “I told you so’s” (and of course she knew, Randy Scheunemann was her and McCain’s foreign policy adviser during the 2008 campaign), the Daily Mail came out with this story.

Revealed: The forgotten treaty which could drag the US and UK into WAR with Russia if Putin’s troops intervene in Ukraine

Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma – the then-rulers of the USA, UK, Russia and Ukraine – agreed to the The Budapest Memorandum as part of the denuclearization of former Soviet republics after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Technically it means that if Russia has invaded Ukraine then it would be difficult for the US and Britain to avoid going to war.

A treaty to protect a country most in the USA couldn’t find on a map. Call me shocked.

In response Mr Brenton said in a BBC radio interview: ‘If indeed this is a Russian invasion of Crimea and if we do conclude the [Budapest] Memorandum is legally binding then it’s very difficult to avoid the conclusion that we’re going to go to war with Russia’.

I guess my question is, after a decade of military adventures in the Mid-East and a US public weary of more military action, are they ready to send there sons and daughters into a region that would no doubt plunge the West into another destructive and needless War? Are they ready to protect another countries borders, all the while the borders of North America are wide open to every criminal Third Worlder? Are we going to do this, where even inside that country, most want to be with their Russian brethren? How stupid are Americans? Is a move to Canada looking like a better idea every day?

Our blood comes from the same Father Lands and Mother Soils of Europe. These are our people! I know, day dreaming about that Utopian European Imperium.

We’ve seen what a”Treaty” has done in the past with all but the destruction of Western Civilization. Cough-WW1-WW2- cough.  Were they a warning on what not to do, or will they be shoved aside to get that War with Russia, so many in the US have been wanting since October of 1962?

Hail Mary, Pray for Us.

Good podcast over at Radix Journal on the actual background on what’s going on over there and a more in depth discussion than the normal “Either Or” nonsense, is here.

CNN has just released a poll stating that a “Majority think Government poses a threat to citizens’ rights”.

Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they think the federal government has become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens. Forty-four percent of those polled disagree.

My first reaction to this poll is to be optimistic, to cheer and yell “it’s about time folks started seeing what the Government is doing!” With the reauthorization of the Patriot Act, Banks and Wall Street becoming one Big Government program and of course this coming health care nightmare. You would think people would be sharpening their pitchforks and making sure they had enough matches to light their torches. And from reading this poll it looks as if people are starting to do just that.

Then a few minutes later after reading this poll I become cynical. I start to think to myself  “If a Republican was in charge of the Government, would these same people be saying the same thing?”  More than likely not. These same folks cheered on George W. Bush when he was wrecking the Constitution but are angry President Obama is doing the same thing. It’s like these folks have ADD.

“My Team is better than your Team” Mentality that prevails in our political system. When in fact they are both on the same team.

In the mean time, I will be optimistic about these developments. There is no reason to doubt this poll. But I want to see CNN poll these same folks when, say if Mitt Romney or Sarah Palin or Tim Pawlenty becomes President.

I’m one of you

I’ve tried to give the former Governor of Alaska the benefit of the doubt. I’ve even written favorably about her at times. But this is total nonsense and why this lady is a complete train wreck.

If this is someone who the Tea Party folks want representing them, then I don’t want anything to do with you. Just like I don’t want  anything to do with the 9/11 truthers who support Dr.Paul. At least Dr.Paul doesn’t entertain notions that the Government was behind 9/11.

Framing it as some sort of revenge at the “Trig is not her child” kooks doesn’t make it right either. I have to say this whole “Sarah Palin is a Victim” crap just turns me off, more and more.

I’m with the lovely Ms. Larisa…I demand an investigation into the existence of Leprechauns!

Found an interesting quote from Gov. Sarah Palin, that just makes me lover her even more.

We are a nation at war and in many [ways] the reasons for war are fights over energy sources, which is nonsensical when you consider that domestically we have the supplies ready to go.

Just something to think about. Could we see a Sarah Palin/Mark Sanford 2012 ticket? Rather fun to day dream.

And all of the sudden she’s the next Ronald Reagan? Richard Viguerie is someone who I respect highly. He is one of the founding fathers of the Conservative movement. But I think he’s way off the mark here. As well as the others I’ve been hearing this from.

(CNSNews.com)“Now we know why liberal Democrats hate and fear Sarah Palin,” said Richard A. Viguerie, a leader of the modern conservative movement. “Sarah Palin is the next Ronald Reagan,” Viguerie said in a news release after Palin addressed the Republican National Convention.

“In less than a week, Governor Sarah has captured the heart and soul of this convention, the Republican Party, and the conservative movement. She brings together social conservatives, and economic conservatives and libertarians, and people who are fed up with the Culture of Corruption that infests our nation’s politics,” he said.

Now, as one of thoughts libertarians that Mr. Viguerie is talking about, I’m not impressed as I was back in May, when I wrote about Gov. Palin. Sorry. I’m not finding anything really Libertarian about her. So, she shoots guns. “Oh wow, she’s just like me”, as I have heard the mindless sheep say this past week.

But back to the point of this post. The beauty of Reagan was that he brought together the three legged stool. The Social Conservatives, the Economic Conservatives/Libertarians and the National Defense Democrats. Now, the Soc-Con’s and the Evangelicals are fawning all over her. (Hmm sounds familiar. Obama’s followers come to mind) With her being Pro-life (I am as well) and her “Biblical” support of Israel is making her a darling of that faction. In other words, she believes in the “Rapture“.  (For the Catholic view on this Un-Biblical belief, “Will Catholics be left behind” is a good book to read)

The National Defense Democrats (I call them that because they are the ones who like to “Make the World Safe for Democracy by the barrel of the Us Military”) will love her, because she will fall in line with McAmnesty’s view of wanting to blow up half the world. So they are on board.

Now for the fiscal conservatives and economic libertarians. As a Economic Libertarian, I’m not finding much to like about her. Taxing Oil Company’s, and turning around and giving that “Windfall Profit Tax” money back to the “people”. Which in my view is redistribution of wealth. Call me crazy.

So, from my view point, there is NOTHING Reagan-ish about her.

Oh and folks? She’s only going to be the Vice President.

Yes, you read that right. I am jumping off the band wagon. Twenty years ago, when the real Conservative Movement was alive and well, you couldn’t even get in the door without saying hello to Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly. Mrs. Schlafly to us Real Conservatives, is the Goddess of the Movement. Plan and Simple. She has been a tireless warrior for the cause of Freedom and Liberty. But now, she just got tossed under the bus. For what you ask? To kiss the rings of AIPAC.

Palin Speech Is Abruptly Canceled

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The McCain campaign is showing signs of being spooked by the press frenzy about Governor Palin‘s family, abruptly canceling a scheduled appearance by the presumptive vice presidential nominee, moving to keep the candidate under wraps until today’s prime-time speech at the Republican National Convention here.

Spooked? What a joke.

The organizers of the Republican National Coalition for Life’s cocktail-buffet reception told The New York Sun that the McCain campaign called them late Monday evening to cancel the appearance of the Alaskagovernor. Mrs. Palin did meet behind closed doors with leaders of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

The founder of Eagle Forum and the organizer of the Coalition for Life Palin event, Phyllis Schlafly, Monday told The New York Sun that she “had no idea” why the McCain campaign yanked Mrs. Palin from her speaking engagement. The Alaska governor had been booked two months in advance for the $95-a-ticket reception.

Mrs. Schlafly, it breaks my heart to see this happen to you. You, Pat Buchanan, and the Goldwater family, are why a lot of us are American Conservatives today. But like you, and Uncle Pat and my Goldwater Cousins, we all have been thrown under the bus.

According to one Republican source familiar with the meeting, Mrs. Palin was introduced to Aipac leaders here by Senator Lieberman. And there it is. The new standard bearers of “Conservatism”. AIPAC.

This source said Mrs. Palin “talked about her personal connection to Israel that she has had since she was a young child, it has been part of her views and how important this small country was for so many people for so many reasons.” This source also said, “She subscribes to Senator McCain’s ‘never again’ policy,” a slogan popularized after the Holocaust and a promise never to allow genocide to go unchallenged. Mrs. Palin also said her mother had recently traveled to Israel, according to this source, and that she displayed an Israeli flag in her office in Juneau.

Conservative? Sure. American First? Hardly. Treasonous to display another flag in a American Governors office? You betcha.

You had me going there Gov. Palin. You even had me toying with the idea of voting for the mcAmnesty/Palin ticket. But now, you have gone and showed me your true colors. God Damn, I am sickend.

As I am learning more and more about Gov. Palin, the more and more I feel she is a lady who’s after my political heart. Her being a supporter of Pat Buchanan, our 2nd Amendment, her Pro-Life stance and now her support for secession.

Members of ‘Fringe’ Alaskan Independence Party Say Palin Was a Member in 90s

Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.

We are a state’s rights party,” says Clark, a self-employed goldminer. The AIP has “a plank that challenges the legality of the Alaskan statehood vote as illegal and in violation of United Nations charter and international law.”

State’s Rights? Wow!! The news keeps getting better. But there are some out there who think this “kooky”, or as the dirtbag who wrote the piece for ABC describes this group as “fringe”. There is nothing “kooky” or “fringe” about this position. If the people of said state want to be their own republic, then by all means, do it. Why is this a strange belief to have?

What am I finding strange about all of this is, after years of these So-Called Conservatives throwing us Pat Buchanan and yes Ron Paul supporters under the bus, are now embracing someone who agrees with us. Why, now all of the sudden, is it ok to be a Buchanan Brigadier? Why, all of the sudden, is it ok to hold secessionist views? Why, all of the sudden, is it ok to believe in State’s Rights?

After 7 and a half years of the Bush Administrations over reaching Federal Power grab, and all of you cheer leading it on, are now Gun Toting, State’s Rights wanting, Pat Buchanan Fans?

You can smell the phoniness miles away.
